Lubos Szabo and his wife Nancy Montalvo have brought a bit of old-world Eastern European cuisine to Bellevue. It's a rare kind of restaurant and has dishes from Austria, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Hungary, Russia and Italy. The restaurant's namesake river flows through some of those countries, but the unifying theme here is taste. The Danube is a breath of fresh air for Bellevue diners who are tired of the area's abundance of Asian-inspired fare. Come for the wienerschnitzel, stay for the great service.
