Friends Philosophy and Tea is a human-sized event center: a meeting space for workshops, classes and seminars, and a teahouse that offers a variety of black and herbal teas and light snacks. Owner Astara Briski and her husband, Rory, make the nearly 1,000-square-foot space available to organizations and small business owners for a variety of weekly events, including seminars, business networking events, author events and classes for meditation, yoga and other health and spiritual topics. A calendar of events is available on Friends Philosophy and Tea's website, which Astara Briski updates often.

Organizations and small business owners can become members of Friends Philosophy and Tea. Memberships include several hours of meeting space a month and discounts on hourly and two- and three-day workshop rates. Non-members can also book Friends Philosophy and Tea for events, workshops and classes.

The event space includes a 468-square-foot ballroom appropriate for larger meetings or events and the 300-square-foot teahouse. The building has several small offices for monthly rent, free Wi-Fi, weekday rental specials and discounts for nonprofit organizations.

During business hours people can meet in the reception area/teahouse for tea and a light snack. The teahouse offers organic and wheat-free snacks, along with a wide variety of herbal, green and black teas. It also has a small collection of new and used books.
