Established in 1960 in Bellevue, Overlake Hospital Medical Center continues to grow. The hospital opened as Overlake Memorial Hospital after a seven year local fundraising campaign to bring a hospital to the Eastside. It currently continues to run as a nonprofit organization offering 337 beds, a Level-III Trauma Center, a childbirth center, a cancer center, weight loss surgery, a cardiac center, a mental health and chemical dependency treatment center and rehabilitation programs for joint replacement and strokes. The main hospital campus is located on the corner of Northeast 10th Street and 115th Avenue Northeast, across from Group Health Bellevue. A new medical pavilion along 116th Avenue Northeast is slated to be complete in 2011. Overlake also has a medical center in Issaquah and a clinic in downtown Bellevue. According to the hospital figures, it serves 245,000 outpatients and 18,000 inpatients each year. Free parking is available in a lot on the Overlake campus for one hour, after which the visitor is charged a fee.
