I'm positively thrilled to see the number of people who've stepped up and thrown their hat in theRead More election ring, particularly in my district (5). I look forward to learning more about each of you. Best wishes to you all!

I'll be more impressed when Sammamish and Interlake High Schools make this list. I expect highRead More achievement in the schools listed, they are in predominately high income neighborhoods. However, I will note I am impressed with Highland MS and Tillicum MS who serve a more diverse population and who struggle with a higher poverty rate than other schools. When we start closing the gaps for our poorest students, then we can really celebrate.

I was parked in front of Newport Children's School this morning. I was inside for 4 minutes andRead More come back out to a smashed window and stolen purse. Stay on the watch, they are targeting busy mothers and fathers dropping off thier children at school.

Good news about tobacco use. I do find it depressing that teens consider marijuana use less riskyRead More while thoughts of suicide are going up. Studies have shown a direct correlation of marijuana addiction to depression and suicide.

It is interesting that 10th graders show higher rates of depression and suicidal thoughts than theRead More 12th graders. I wonder if that is usually the case or if it correlates with with some outside influence, such as war, 9/11 or economy, during an important milestone in their lives.
AC March 17, 2013 at 06:51 pm
I suppose we can deduce from these numbers that the decrease in teen depression and suicidalRead More ideation corresponds with an increase in smoking, drinking, using drugs, and having sex.

Racist much? after you prove you are an ignorant white-hater nothing after that is relevant
Nathaniel Forrest January 28, 2013 at 12:36 pm
That doesn't make for good headlines for the media or a propaganda tool for the pigs to prove theRead More SUCKcess of their meaningless gun buyback. Won't even see a blip in the crime stats
