Parents ruin sports..
sportsnut July 14, 2014 at 04:39 am
Alan I agree. Parents coach to get their kids and kids friends a leg up. Kids are choosen too basedRead More on parents and kids being friends. Take AAU and All-Stars and positions in each sport. Parents coach because they want their kid in prime positions, kids are friends with certain kids or because a family does not like someone but the kid has talent not playing. You need "out of area" coaches to come and determine if a kid is "that good" to be at the next level not "locals" whom coach because that is the only way the kid will get playing time.

sportsnut: Seems like a perfect opportunity for you to get involved in coaching... If nothingRead More else, becoming a coach will give you a voice in the league to lobby for equal playing time for all kids, and rotation of positions--particularly at the lower levels.

I love Zip Lines! I think this will be a great activity for us to do as a church! Especially nowRead More that we are meeting at SBCC! Thanks for the update.

How convenient for your church! Sounds like fun. I'm a big fan of that community center inRead More particular, as well, because of the activities available there. I'd love to try out the climbing wall at some point.

Dan: The Voice of Reason. Whoda thunk? I agree. Let's start talking about Russell Wilson...

I'll just say this. The timeout should have been irrelevant. After dominating the second half, theRead More Seahawks defense gave up a whole lot of ground in less than 20 seconds. I was shocked when I saw Matt Ryan complete those passes so easily. Monday morning quarterbacking on my part, I know, but I would have love to have seen the Seahawk coaches order those DB's to jam a little bit on the line. If you're playing nickel, there should be another DB to help if the receiver gets behind the first defender. It's a shame either way. Anyway, go Hawks!

Rudy is a true GEM....I am honored to have known this fine gentleman. I worked for Rudy as aRead More teenager for Bellevue Parks. I am now in my 40's and I still manage to stay in touch and visit with him occasionally at the center. Happy Retirement, my man...

I am so sad to see RUUDAY go, I have known him for only one year and it feels like I've known himRead More for 10years. I can't express the appreciation I feel for all the oppertunities he has shown my kids from the first time we came to Crossroads C.C. He will have a special place in my heart. I wish him a blessed retirement and hope to see him some time in the future continuing to serve our community.

Ole Rudy was a great man in our Yesler Terrace Community many years ago. All of us kids had lots ofRead More respect for him. In addition he was a good family friend. I can remember him coming over on his lunch breaks. Most of us had to climb & jump over the fence, but when Rudy came he just walked right over it!lol I don't think I ever seen this man blow his top. He always had a calming presence about him. Even though our family lost touch, we will always love him. He is one of the great ones:) Take care Rudy & moms BJ says hi!!
