Sammamish High School is one of five public high schools in Bellevue to be recognized in Newsweek's "America'sMore Best High School" edition - the others were Interlake, International School, and Newport and Bellevue high schools. Sammamish offers 18 Advanced Placement classes, a visual and performing arts magnet program that includes digital video production, dance, Japanese ceramics, hot glass and music. The school also offers a bilingual transition program for English language learners and academic assistance.</p> <p>Nearly 90 percent of tenth graders passed the state standardized test for writing last year and 78 percent met reading standards.</p> <p> </p>

Interlake High School

Interlake High School is one of the schools in the state that consistently makes the "America's Best High Schools" listsMore in both Newsweek and U.S. News and World Report. Last year, it was named in the top 20 on Newsweek's list, which used participation in advanced courses as part of the criteria. Interlake is the only high school in the Bellevue School District that offers both advanced placement classes, which give students college-level course work that is evaluated in a national test, and the International Baccalaureate Program, an internationally recognized two-year diploma program with academically rigorous courses. Interlake is also the location of the Gifted High School Program, for students who score high on the Cognitive Abilities Test. Students in Bellevue's gifted program for middle school students (PRISM) are enrolled automatically.
Insight School of Washington

Insight School of Washington is a tuition-free, public online high school. The school admits ninth through 12thMore graders and all classes are conducted online. The school offers a full slate of classes, including career and technical education courses and honors and advanced placement courses. Students also have access to tutors and academic counselors. Students and teachers interact through audio, video, live chat and group interactions with classmates. Just like many public high schools in the state, Insight students may also participate in Running Start programs at their local community college and in the sports programs at their local high schools.</p> <p>Though Insight School of Washington's central office is in Bellevue, the program is run through the Quillayute Valley School District in Forks. Any high school student in Washington the state may enroll full-time. Students have the same graduation requirements as every other student in the Quillayute Valley School District, including completions of the High School Proficiency Exams requirements.</p>

Bellevue High School

Bellevue High School has been recognized by both U.S. News and World Report and Newsweek as one of "America's Best HighMore Schools." Both lists are partially based on the number of college-level tests that students take; the school encourages students to take at least one Advanced Placement test during their high school career. Last year, Bellevue placed in the top 100 of both lists. The school also has a graduation rate of 96%, according to the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, and the school reported that in 2009, about 95% of graduating seniors enrolled in a college, university or technical school. This year, the school is under renovation with plans for new classrooms and offices, a new performing arts center and major upgrades to the gymnasium.  The project is scheduled for completion August 2012.
