This year, the Bellevue School District will educate 17,700 students in kindergarten through 12th grade in Bellevue,…More Medina and Clyde Hill. The school district has several notable programs, including the programs for its high school students. The high schools also have good athletic programs, with student athletes and teams regularly being recognized for their achievements in sport.
Most of the high schools have been featured in annual lists of top public high school published by Newsweek and U.S. News and World Report because of the number of students who participate in advanced, college-level courses. At many of the schools, the percentage of students who speak a language other than English at home is in the double digits. The district also has a k-12 Spanish immersion track, for English-speaking students who want to become fluent in Spanish and a middle-high school that focuses on global issues and high achievement, and one high school, Interlake High School, which offers an International Baccalaureate diploma.
However, the district is also in a state of transition with other programs. After the closure of Robinswood High School, an alternative school, the district is exploring developing new models for alternative education.
The district main offices are in the Educational Service Center, in the Eastridge Corporate Center business park, 12111 - NE 1st St. School board meetings are in the nearby Wilburton Instructional Service Center, 12241 Main St.
