Speaker Tracy Dart “On a scale of 1 to Cancer”

Join the Newcastle Chamber for our July 10 Monthly Lunch at Tapatio Mexican Grill from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. You'll leave feeling encouraged, inspired and motivated. Sign up to attend

It sounds quite simple when you hear her say "My name is Tracy Dart, I'm 38 years old, and I am a cancer survivor," but there is more to Tracy Dart's story.  Tracy is undergoing her fourth battle with cancer in five years.

Cancer four times since the age of 33.

Each time Tracy has been told she has cancer she fights back. She has undergone several surgeries and multiple rounds of radiation and chemotherapy.  Today she is currently treating cancer that has spread to her hip bone.  "As I trudge through the world of cancer, I am trying desperately to not feel like this war on my body is in vain," said Dart.

Everyone deserves a lifetime.

"I believe that everyone deserves a lifetime, and through my fundraising efforts and spreading awareness - the life I save may just be my own." says Dart. Her Susan G. Komen 3 Day team Team Tracy has raised nearly a quarter of a million dollars for breast cancer research, awareness and ultimately a cure.  Tracy shares her story with audiences of all sizes, from keynote speaker at events with 1,500 people to more intimate groups with 10-20 guests

Tracy will share her belief that no matter the situation one is going through ( health related, loss of a family member, depression, addiction) each of us has  a choice.  We can be a part of negativity, the gossip, the small stuff  or we can choose to build ourselves and others up. Tracy believes that we can make a difference and find our own happiness.

I want to help people see and understand my journey. How I've gone about finding my "strong" and finding my "happy" in the midst of turmoil. And ultimately how Cancer has taught me not to sweat the small stuff.

Tracy will share how she has dealt with Cancer in her life including:

  • Building a work environment (a job) that was conducive to working around doctors appointments
  • Fulfilling a dream of being a small business owner.
  • Becoming part of the solution by diving into fundraising for cancer research and awareness.
