Strawberry Festival Sprouts June 22-23 at Crossroads Park

Get your shortcake-eating clothes ready. The Eastside Heritage Center's Bellevue Strawberry Festival is this weekend at Crossroads Park.

The Bellevue Strawberry Festival is from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday June 22 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday June 23. Crossroads Park is at the corner of Northeast Eighth Street and 164th Avenue Northeast.

The annual Festival celebrates Bellevue's roots in agriculture and strawberry farming, as well as its cultural history. The family-oriented community event features strawberry shortcake, hands-on history exhibits, food booths, entertainment and an auto show, and contests.

This year, the festival will debut a Jeep show, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. Education advocacy group Eastside Pathways also will host a fun scavenger hunt on both days.

The event is free, though you will need cash for some of the games, contests and activities.

Overflow parking and shuttles to the park will be available at Highland Middle School, 15027 NE Bel-Red Rd.
